Model Ordinance for Distribution Centers

PennFuture has published a model ordinance and guidebook regarding warehouses and distribution centers. We hope that our local municipalities can use this information to guide future decisions so we don't end up looking like the Route 33 corridor in Northampton County!

.......It's what we do!

After twelve years of urging the DEP to move forward on our petition to redesignate Aquashicola Creek, some great news! In the April 24, 2022 Existing Use list put out by DEP, the creek was listed as EXCEPTIONAL VALUE!!!!!!

This designation is from the source, Ross Common Creek in Ross Township, to the confluence with Buckwha Creek in Lower Towamensing Township.

A huge thanks to all our members and partners for hanging in there! Comment Period is now closed.

Other great news is the demise of the Penn East pipeline project. After a long struggle by a coalition of groups opposed to the project, including Save Carbon County, plans for the debacle were  finally scrapped. The new battle that looms is the increasing threat of warehouse construction that is creeping into our area. One only needs to look to our South to see the spread of these monstrosities.
